Are their any differences between the two besides the price and the brass? I can usually find one 50 round box of Fiocchi XTP's for a little better price than two 25 round box of Hornady XTP's.

I did notice on my gallon jug water test that the Fiocchi was enough slower than the Hornady in the 9 mm. 147 JHP XTP that it overpenetrated the 4th jug in my test box. It continued about 14 ft. more after going completely through. On the other hand the Hornady load with same bullet stayed inside the 4th jug and expanded more. Always test the Fiocchi loads to see if they are fast enough to get the proper performance ! BTW, the 124 JHP XTP in the Fiocchi passes this test and gives good penetration and still stays inside the 4th jug and does not exit .!

Price and options are the biggest difference. With Hornady you will usually have the option of a +P load and nickle plating as well. I have no clue about either being low flash or how well they do it.

A couple months ago I compared the performance of the 200 grain 45 XTP at both standard and +P velocities. The results can be found here http://thefiringline.com/forums/showthread.php?t=467772 and the results are pretty clear.

Some XTP bullets though just need to be redesigned, the 147 9mm XTP being one of them. Bullets like those create the myth that XTP's are over built and need to be screamers to get proper expansion when the truth is some are just designed to stop expanding too early.
