Well, four of the five press bushings on my brand new LNL AP provide a very loose fit when the die bushings are inserted. Both the sizing die and the powder die bushings actually came out during a prolonged reloading session.

I spoke with Hornady and they are sending me four replacement press bushings. They said that I can unscrew the press die bushings by putting the wrench on the flats of a tight lock ring installed on a die in a die bushing.

I'm wondering if anyone here has ever had to do that. I hope it does not take superhuman strength or damage one of my dies... :uhoh:

Never had to tighten one of mine that I remember. But if I did, I'd simply add some blue loctite, tighten them down using a die with die bushing and not sweat it. I suspect your bushing probably aren't bad, just weren't tightened enough at the factory when installed or the loctite wasn't used, something the quality inspectors can't see.

Regards,

Dave

Actually, the press bushings are installed very tight in the press. The problem is that the die bushings do not lock tightly into 4 of the 5 the press bushings. This was tested with quite a few die bushings.

When i first got my press. one of the female bushings would not take any of the male bushings. it was to thick at the top and would not allow it to turn in to lock. hornady sent me a new bushing. they are not that bad to change.

I have noticed also what you are talking about. my powder die works it self loose. not much but it has to be checked often
