I've been eyeing my next rifle. The Sako 75 Laminated Varmint , chambered in .223. I have a Tikka t3 stainless laminate, in .308 Win, tapered sporter barrel, and could not be happier with how accurate it is, and how smooth the action and trigger are.. :D I'm still working up loads for it, but it seems to like almost anything I throw at it.

But meanwhile, I feel the burning need for a slick, paper-punching demon, call me crazy  , and I've been eyeing the Sako for a while. I'm thinking .223 Rem will give me a 300 yd varmint/tack driver. Am I right? So anyone own one, willing to share some feedback on the quality of this rifle (yes, I know about the finnlight recalls last year). The spec sheet says the twist is 1:8. Seems like most rifles in this caliber are either 1:9 or 1:12. I'm wondering why the twist on the Sako is slower..?

It's such a thing of beauty, though ain't it..?? I'm a sucker for the laminated woods - seems like a nice happy medium between the warm, "true" wood stocks, and the soulless synthetic ones ;)
