I just started reloading .357 with a little Lee Loader and a hammer. I am yet to even fire one, I'm so concerned it will explode. If I am using 9.6 grs of HS-6 with a 125 gr Hornady XTP I should be fine, BUT what would happen if I double charged it, or seated the bullet at 1.54" or lower? Are my fears rational could my cylinder detonate?
9.8 is the suggested HS-6 starting load with that bullet.
10.9 is MAX.
If you are sure of the powder charge weight, then you will be fine.
Lee powder dippers tend to throw light anyway.
If you are weighing charges on a scale, they should really be what you think they are and are still below the recommended starting load.
Seating depth will have no adverse effects on a less then starting load.
