How can an AR be "modified to make it more poweful."

They took out a $30k loan and bought a few guns, some ammo and blew the rest like there was no tomorrow and they wouldnt have to pay it back because they wouldnt have to pay it back.

Didn't Saturday Night Live or somebody have a comedy skit about a newsanchor who read ludicrous absurdities off the teleprompter just because it was there?

We are seeing a comedy joke come to life. The horrible part is they expect legislation to be based on complete BS.

How can you make an AR more powerful? Very simply. Swap out the upper for one in 458 SoCom or 50 Beowulf :)

In reality the "news" did a poor job of reporting it. Real journalists are all but dead and the "news" is tabloid journalism at best.

This morning Nora Odonal ??? On the CBS morning news claimed 10's of thousands is rounds worth 10's of thousands of dollars. Someone sent out talking points on ammunition almost immediately after the attack and they continue to beat the drum.

A .50 BMG upper conversion would certainly make one more powerful! The problem with the media is that they allow uninformed reporters to speak as if they are experts on the subject of firearms. They use emotional buzz words such as "assault rifle" and "high caliber" when describing normal guns used in crimes. They also show misleading footage of automatic weapons when discussing semi-automatic rifles. It really irks me!

vertical foregrip.

everyone knows the more furniture on an AR the harder it hits.

(I seriously hope we don't see the same silliness of the 90's AWB "features" list)

scary = powerful. Don't forget these are the same people who proclaimed that the Terrorists where wearing "assault clothes" :what:, and had "hundreds of bomb making tools" i.e. hammers, screwdrivers, and wrenches.
The media excludes those who are knowledgable and comfortable around guns, they love ignorant boobs. :cuss:

Hey, I think that political commentator was incorrect about the whole bullet button thingy. I'm pretty sure that a bullet button transforms a typical AR Military Style Assault Weapon ("ARMSAW") into a long stroke, piston driven fully automatic platform, identical to the AK in function, although not in outward appearance. I'm pretty sure of this, I think.....probably. :scrutiny:

^You need to frame that with [sarcasm] [/sarcasm] tags.

If the politicans and news media get details like what a bullet button does so wrong, how can the policies they promote with their Tru[sup]th[/sup] impact reality, specifically bad behavior by people of ill intent?

If the jihadists had used the guns with bullet buttons, it would have slowed magazine changes. The news readers idea that a bullet button was something you pressed to fire more bullets is stuck on imbecile.

Laughed at the bullet button = full automatic fire. I guess that's why California law requires the bullet button be part of the design for sale in Cali. What a crock and many in the USA believe and repeat this nonsense.

The "legally purchased" part of the argument is false.

Sure at one point they were bought legally but would you say a criminal that stole a legally purchased gun and committed, committed a crime with a legally purchased firearm?

Some might but others would point out that the possession came about due to a criminal act (opposite of legally).

In California
Generally, all firearms purchases and transfers, including private party transactions and sales at gun shows, must be made through a California licensed dealer under the Dealer’s Record of Sale (DROS) process.

So they were legally bought at one point but possession was illegally transferred to the now dead.

In short their laws, that they want everywhere, did not and will not work. At least if your willing to break the law.
