In fact the NRA does explain and is notable for making information available to its members, including the reasons for its actions. Why do you think that whining on an Internet gun forum will get you any better explanations or any more of them. As an NRA member you surely have mailing addresses, e-mail addresses, and telephone numbers for the NRA.
It's Wetzeling to complain in the same breath about both recent sellouts and insufficient information on which to base sound conclusions. By what mystical process do you arrive at the judgment that there have been any sellouts at all, much less recent sellouts, when you say you don't know why the NRA has taken actions that make you feel betrayed.
GOA probably can help you with those feelings of betrayal. It seems to accommodate other people who feel done in a lot--not only by the NRA but also by the United States government, state and local government, the military, the police, their friends, their families, Sen. Tom Coburn, me, the water supply, and forum moderators who close threads in a giant conspiracy to do them evil. You might simply be in the wrong organization for you.
Forget about your apparently unattainable goal of finding reasons to counter decisions you've already made in your head. Don't let firearms get in the way of your finding a social group more to your liking. Go for a better fit with your personality. As an added bonus you won't find me or anyone like me in GOA, so you'll feel even better.
Maybe if the NRA were to explain some of their actions to their membership I'd feel less betrayed, but I'd have to hear the reasoning behind some of the recent sellouts before I could decide whether or not to feel that way...
