I have two questions actually. If a case that hasn't had the crimp swaged is encountered, what happens? If a SP .45 acp case in encountered while loading LP, what happens?

How do you recover? Is it a major event?

The reason I'm asking is I've been loading using a Lee loadmaster. I typically deprime/size, prime with a hand primer setting cases that need swaging aside, and then making a charge, seating, crimp pass. I had a very frustrating afternoon with my Loadmaster. If I'm not going to be trading old frustrations for new ones I'd be interested in something like a Dillon 750.

Thank you

I have a pair of 650s.

When a SPP .45 ACP case gets into the system I can feel it at the primer seating station. I keep a few deprimed and resized LPP cases on hand for this event. I just remove the SPP case, toss it in the trash bucket and put a LPP case in the station.

The same thing with crimped 9mm.

I can't see how or why it would be any different with a 750.

If you're OCD enough you will have sorted all the SPP from the LPP .45 brass and swaged all the 9mm brass before you start reloading.

Me, I just knock the dirt off, spray on some One-Shot and starting pulling the lever on the blue slot machines.

Both answers are correct.

You'll detect the issue because the primer will not seat. Then...
► If you pull the offending case out, the the shell plate continues to advance with an empty position. No powder is dropped, no bullet is seated.
► If you replace the offending case, then the primer is seated and the powder is dropped as per normal operation
