it runs deep in the good old USA I Hope all goes well for you all DD

Try using spell check and punctuation......nearly went cross eyed to read that.

And, with those two posts..

What a way to welcome a newbie to The High Road..... Note that it's his first post.

So from me, welcome to the site.

Well the current ammunition bubble has caused a lot of angst in people and sometimes rude behavior.

Based on talks with a friend, rimfire ammunition is being produced and delivered, the example was the experience at a Cabela’s store. This store receives pallets of rimfire ammunition at closing time, puts the pallet out on the floor, and at opening time next day, a bunch of guys are at the door and run over to the pallet to buy huge amounts of rimfire ammunition. It is probable that the purchasers were tipped off by store employees. The store puts a cashier right at the pallet, because these guys will argue and fight among themselves, so the store, through experience has discovered the best thing to do is let them purchase their ammunition quickly and get them out of the store.

Apparently these guys then sell this ammunition on websites at the going price, which is probably 50% more than they paid.

We can expect this behavior to continue as it takes a long time for the shooting community to come down from fears of the gun confiscation, ammunition restrictions, that were created when the Obama administration introduced anti gun legislation.

We have met the enemy, and it is us!

This is true...so welcome to the forum...however, to make you stay more pleasant and to gain creditability I would suggest.

1. Spell Check
2. Grammar check
3. Proper punctuation
4. Less random capitalization
5. Fewer returns in the middle of sentences
6. More use of paragraphs

We're trying to share here without an overt strain on our cogitative powers. plus many of us would like to avoid eye strain

Yes... welcome to the site. I hope you stay and understand that its meant as constructive criticism.

And I don't mean to pile it on... I really don't.

But.. So HOW do you buy 22lr? I don't think you ever said and I'm looking for some tips.

Seriously... I'd like some tips other than 'stalk Walmart or xyz websites or pay through the nose".

Nice of you to give the guy a box of ammo. Good job!

If the OP's friend is selling all his .22 ammo to "hordders," then getting complaints for not having ammo, then he needs to put a 1-2 box limit on .22's.

Make it hard enough and the "hordders" will just stop "horrdding."

Those hordders get under my skin to I wish every store would pute limits on the amont of 22 ammo people can buyd until all the hordders stops buying them all up and trying to double there money tyst is just wrong in my opinyun they are the rute caus of the shortege they bying them all up and sailing for double at gunshows allote of kids shute 22s and now they kant becus they're is nun to by thanx hordders

I think texting and Twitter has butchered the English language beyond repair. Why is the period so hard to use?

Hit Academy stores at 8AM on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. This is when my local store stocks ammo (probably the whole chain of stores) and there are always a couple of guys there next to me waiting for the store to open at 8.

Scalpers and other desperate gun owners will be there too so if you get there at 8:20 you'll leave empty handed.

Using this technique I've walked out with 500 round and 325 round bulk packs the last 6 times I've tried.

With all due respect, I was just like this guy. You will learn to write, or be subjected to ridicule. It's the way of life...

Wow you would figure with a name like thehighroad.org the members here would be better than this. Dangerous Dan first post was about helping fellow shooters out, and hes treated like this.

Ironically, The High Road is one of the least friendly gun forums online when it comes to newbies or people who don't write well. When I first came here I hated it because there are lots of negative people around here. After a while you get used to them and come to understand that this is a very large site with it's share of bad apples while most of the people around here are the decent enough type. It is definitely a decent source of info for the most part.

Anyways, welcome to the forums OP. Sorry if the guys come across a little harsh.

Liberty.

I really like it. Free markets. Minimal government, constitutionally restricted. I'm in favor of it. Sometimes the outcome is messy and I don't particularly like where it went, but I'm still in favor of liberty.

That means that if a man can buy a product for X and sell it for Y, without coercion, then I am not going to try and stop him.

**I** have the freedom to buy, or not to buy. I like that. I bought a bunch of 22LR years ago at 3.5-5 cents each. I'm slowly running down my stock -- but not from shooting, mainly from giving it away to newbie folks who can't find any -- welcoming them to our tribe.

Meanwhile, our nation churns out roughly one-half BILLION rounds per month, virtually ALL of which are being snapped up by a hungry public, reawakened to the value of these tiny packages of brass, powder, and lead (or copper). Been going on over 12 months now. People in the trade are (hopefully) making big profits and enlarging their coffers or their businesses -- these are people I WANT to succeed, so I'm pleased to see it. Better those $ be spent on ammo, than on TV games!

The way I see it, our nation now has:
300 million firearms in private hands
Probably now over SIX BILLION (at least) rounds of ammunition in private hands

This is the most armed-to-the-teeth nation in the history of the planet, in the history of the world. And I think those who caused this must be getting nervous!

Treated like what? Asking him to use punctuation in a written forum so we can understand what he is trying to say?

I have no issues and make no comments about spelling or grammar issues. We all have different backgrounds and as long as he is contributing, who cares if he knows proper spelling. Now, writing a paragraph with no punctuation, serious typos and basically not caring how it comes out for us to read, you can see it is not being a poor speller or uneducated as much as it's not caring what he puts out there.

What he did was noble and kind. How he wrote it was an atrocity. This isn't a texting or twitter forum where characters matter. It is a writing forum where you need to use common writing formats so we can at least understand what is being written.

i just shoot my 45-reloads-have all the crap left over from the first obummer election. 22's--stash used sparingly. today's paper--dicks' and bass pro listing 22 bulk--$20-25--limit 1--basically a come on.

Run on sentences, with improper use of capitals, punctuation, and paragraphs, all make it hard to read/understand a post.

The better you get your message across, the more people will read it, giving you the best chance of getting a wider variety of excellent answers.

Help the members out.

That said, I think we have made our point, so let's give Dan a break.

Welcome to THR Dan. That was very nice of you to share your fortune with a young kid like that. :)
