How many days until Christmas?

I upgraded from the Lee single stage to my LCT about 9 years ago. It is some of the best $$ I've ever spent and honestly is a perfect match to my realistic ammo needs and budget. You are gonna LUV it! 150 rounds per hour is no sweat. Add the Inline Fabrication case kicker and you can get near 200rph.

The extra turret plates are affordable enough so I have one for every caliber I reload. I store the turrets, with their attached and adjusted dies and shell holder in those tall round red plastic cases Lee offers.

I will 'admit' that the kit included Lee beam scale - while HIGHLY accurate - is a bit of a PIA to use so I don't and use a $30 digital one, which more than meets MY needs. One note on the Lee beam scale - it is fine for confirming a specific weight (as in pre-setting it for the charge weight you want and adding powder to the scale pan till it balances). For finding an unknown weight it is rather 'fidgety"

I’m pretty excited. Good info on the beam scale. I will only be loading 38’s and using Bullseye, so hopefully I’ll be able to dial in a specific weight pretty quickly and the just use it to check to make sure it is dumping consistently, which I understand is it’s strength.

With the crowd in our family now I am quite happy to have Christmas over with--they still let me cook the turkey even after 50 + years---HOPE NOT MY LAST.

ps: that's my favorite press in #1

As of today you are only looking at about 9 days. :) Look on the bright side in that once the big day comes you will enjoy years of rolling your own so it's well worth the wait. Enjoy your new press and Merry Christmas.

I remember when my wife surprised me with an Oheler 35 P Chronograph about maybe 25 years ago. I had to wait for the ice to melt on the range before I could play with it.

The best necessary accessory to any reloading press is a sturdy bench upon which to mount it. I see a lot of youtube vids of operators actually flexing their work surface. A press creates a heck of a lot of force.

There you go. Spend the next 9 days putting together a sturdy bench to mount your new press on. Just use imagination to see the working press on the bench. :)
Seriously that is a very good point. You will want a sturdy bench.

Tomorrow morning! Unfortunately I have to travel a bit in January so the start of my reloading career will be a bit slow. Probably best not to rush into this whole reloading thing.

Got the press set up, love it unfortunately the only bolts I had on hand that would fit didn't hold up, snapped the mounting bolt sizing .270 cases so going to store tomorrow, only thing I don't like is the auto indexing rod has small cracks at the beginning of the twist, don't think it will be a problem but will keep an eye on it, really like how it handles spent primers, all in all I think this was a wonderful upgrade from the SS rock chucker
