Well lets just say that I have at least one of something that shoots the following:

.22LR, .32ACP, .38 SPL, .357MAG, 9mm NATO, .40 S&W, 5.56mm NATO, 7.63x39 mm, .410 GA, and 12GA.

And oddly enough, I have a stash of ammo for guns that I do not have.

At least not yet.:)

I'm sure that nobody here on THR has ammo for guns that they don't have do they?

Guntech, How many you got?

Not exactly sure. Over 50 and less than 100. I think around 60 but I'd have to count.

I was guessing around 15 or so for board members, on average. Looks like I did the numbers right to get a nice bell curve.

And 5 votes for zero guns, which I did not expect. Hmmmm. I wonder how many of those are minors waiting for the 18th bday.

Here's the collection I'd like to have. These are all class 3.

That's me BTW

One can never have 'too many' guns...

Like a couple of previous posters said, "Not enough." Only five (but carefully hand-picked) in my stable at the moment, but would rather have about 10.:D

well naturally, i have TWO. oh, wait, did you say GUNS..? my bad, i thought you said BUNS.
but seriously? i seriously ain't tellin' !

The survey link is interesting, but probably far from accurate. It was conducted in the spring of 2004, before the sunset of the AWB. I'd bet the numbers are a lot higher now than they were back then. I know personally my collection has grown from 2 to 15 in that time -- and that doesn't count the 9 other guns that have "come and gone" in my safe.

I only own 4 right now, but you better bet your life that I will own 20 before a Democrat takes office. I look in the classifieds everyday. There are not enough people selling firearms in Indiana.

I currently have 9 guns, 5 rifles, 4 handguns.

Rifles :
Universal 30 Carbine
Remington Nylon 66 22LR
Marlin 925M 22 magnum
Yugo SKS, 7.62x39
Mossberg 500 12 gauge

Pistols :
Springfield XD-40 4"
Taurus Mil-Pro 40
Ruger 22/45 stainless
Taurus Tracker 357 mag

Now that's a good question...

Handguns: .22, .357mag, .380, .38 spl., .9mm (2), 40., .45acp, .45 black powder

Long guns: .22 (3), .303 British, .223, 7.62mm, 12 gauge, 16 gauge

If I counted right, I've got 17 guns.

I'd have to crack open the safe to be sure, but I think that's it. I'm saving for an Uzi to buy next. I've got a feeling they'll be illegal after the next election.

There are statistical ways to deal with "non-reporting", but I'm not sure the researchers grasp how unlikely a gun owner is to not just not participate in the study, but to willingly participate and give a false answer.

The fact that this is a telephone survey would make it even less likely to get a true response. I mean, I am a pretty educated individual, and my wife does survey research design for a living, so I'm probably more likely than most people to participate in a telephone survey. However, if someone calls me on the phone and asks "Do you own any guns?", my response would probably "oh, my gosh no! Aren't those dangerous?" And I know that real research is done via a computer-assisted random-dial system, and that the interviewer has no idea who he is talking to or even what number was just dialed. I'm just not of a mind to give out that information to some random dude on the phone. I'm just not gonna do it.

I'm sure there are a LOT of people who would do the same. I cannot quantify that percentage, but I know it is there.
