How Many Magazines?

Cratz,

I'd love to have that pic in 1024x768 for a desktop. Laugh every time I see it, heh.

I'm ready to carry 330 rds of .223
220 rds of .308
250 rds of 7.62x39
135 rds of 12 gage
148 rds of .44 mag
37 rds of 9mm
51 rds of .45
32 rds of .380

And a tuff dolly to tote the gear. :)

The most I have is 4 for my SIG 225.

I am in dire need for the rest... though it's not a real need, I really only need backups for the guns I want to carry, the Kahr and Kel-Tec.

I only have 3 for the 1911, 2 for everything else except the USP, only 1... :(

As many as I can buy. Minimum is three and there is no maximum.

Well, I keep two Safariland speedloaders for my S&W 686, with an HKS speedloader standing by for emergency use in case of a breakage or high-speed/low-drag operation.

For my Ruger MkII, I have four magazines as that is plenty of shooting for a .22 and I really don't foresee using it defensively.

And my Yost-custom Colt 1991 gets six magazines, though I might bump that to twelve. I have five Wilson 47D's and a Wilson 47T finishes off the battery. This makes for an even fifty-round capacity loaded and ready to go. One whole box of hardball ready for action!

If I do go to twelve magazines, I'll have to get a bandolier.:D

No where near enough.

The AK has 10 - 30 round mags.

Most of the 9mm pistols have 3 or more Standard Cap mags and the 2 restricted ones they came with.

I'm adding to the collection as quickly as possible due to the AW law's unknown future. I guess it's a "Pray for Peace, Prepare for War" type of situtation. I'm praying for the sunset of the law but preparing for the worst case!

whenever I can afford them,as many as I can get, whenever I can get them. Online, gunshow, gunshop.Same thing with practice ammo, and quality ammo.

for handguns 10 with five always loaded, at least where possible - some still need to accrue

for rifles, 20 with 10 always loaded - again where possible, need to accrue.

for shotguns - dang I wish I could find a good shotgun that took detachable mags! other than that Russian thing that looks like an AK on steroids, haven't seen one though, so that's an entire other ball of wax, as it were....

Well. what about the InterOrd USAS-12 Auto-shotgun? They make a semi-auto one as well, don't they? That sort of looks more like a M-16 on steroids, but you get the point.

Actually, I've always wanted one... Makes a Benelli M-1014 look anemic!:)

Millions. At least.

Seriously, for toys I like to have at least four. I compete with some of my toys, and it would suck to DNF a match if a magazine breaks.

For guns I might take to a fight, ten is an absolute minimum. 30 is better. 50 is better still. For less-than-durable mags, like USGI AR-15 mags, I'd have half again as many.

Guns, ammo, mags, wine, books, and fast cars - you can never have too much. :D

I used to think 5 each for pistols was enough. Now I have at least 10 for both P228 and 92FS.

Now long gun mags are another story. If it ever does come to TSHTF, you might not have enough time to restuff magazines while the lead is flying, therefore, you can't have too many. Hopefully the 2nd AR I get will help me push it to the 50 - 100 mark. :D

About 1/2 stay loaded up.

GP-35

First, let me welcome you to THR. Hope you'll find us to your liking. Second, we here all know that that is a picture of Tamara's warehouse.:D :neener:

Glock 17L - Have nine 17-33 round mags (219rds total), want another four 19 rounders (295rds).
Enfield No.4 - Have one mag and six stripper clips (40rds), want five more mags and ten more clips (140rds).
SL8 - Have two 10rd mags, want as many 30rd mags as I can afford (5 to ~10).

like most folks i separate "use and carry" guns from "fun" guns

"fun" guns usually only need about 3 mags...one in the gun, one to reload and one in case one breaks.

"carry" guns require at least 2 complete loadouts plus a spare...so, 7-11 depending on how many i carry on my duty belt.

all my semi-auto rifles have about 20-30 mags each because CA won't let me buy anymore.

Currently, I only own 4 mags for my XD-40 (but at $15 each, I may stock up on more while the price is good).

I think I have a dozen or so for .45 cal 1911's, since I have four guns they'll fit in. Nine for the 10mm. At least a couple for everything else.

The only gun where I have only one mag is my 1907 Winchester in .351 self-loading. Obviously they don't grow on trees, and the piece may soon go into honored retirement, anyway.

bear in mind that some mags are more prone to failure then others...light nudge to 1911 users.

i grew up with the 1911 and was always taught to disgard (yup, throw away) mag bodies with cracked lips and dented bodies. makes for a habit of keeping a whole load of mags on hand (when the price is right)

it seems mags are tougher nowadays ... with the exception of german made mags for the sig 220, talk about cracked lips :cuss: . i picked up 25 of the new Novak/ACT mags for it...very nice quality

I only have three magazines:
Guns and Ammo
SWAT
First Freedom
That is what you meant, right?:D
