My Remington 700P which I bought over ten years ago. The rifle was about $700+ new. I got the Leupold Vari-X III 6.5x20x50mm scope with target turrets for $450 new from a dealer going out of business. The Timney trigger was about $200.

That's about as much as I can afford for a rifle.

But after much thought and the fact that we hunt through the winter months with plenty of rain and snow i decided on the plastic stock. So far i like the Mauser very much and sighting it in i was very pleased with the accuracy.
