My son put a Skinner rear peep sight on his Marlin 336A 20" 30-30. It now shoots 9" high at 50yds with rear sight bottomed out. Whats the best way to determine the front sight height he needs? Thanks

Dawson and Brownells both have sight height calculators on their websites. Both work. Pretty simple geometry, but the online calculators are faster and easier.

Or you could use the idea of similar triangles to determine that he needs a front sight that is about 1/8" higher than the one he has now.
