Lets face it, there are a lot of magazines that suck out there. Some manufacturers who are notorious can actually make decent ones from time to time, but often we are left with a busted or non-functioning magazine with no customer support. The long lesson is spend the extra $3 for a good one, but sometimes the short answer is superglue solves everything.

I should have used Tirod's method. Buddy wanted me to check his rifle out because he was having problems with it. I asked for a mag and he handed me a Tapco. I looked in his stash and saw one of my mags, so I grabbed it and went outside and the rifle functioned fine. I offered to trade mags and he agreed. I took MY new Tapco mag and through it in his trash can. He couldn't stand that and recovered it, so the deal was off. Keeping a bad mag makes about as much sense as keeping brass that's about to have a head separation.

Whenever I have an AR15 mag go bad (dented, whatever), I use it as a target.

A few dozen holes in it, and there's no mistaking it as a bad magazine, anymore.

Useful information for occupied territory where one cannot get replacements. Last spring one had to take what one could get around here.

Huh. It's the same deal with known bad RF connectors. Hammer or vise, then trash can :)

That way they can't give you erroneous readings in the future...
