Am I the only one having to endure this almost irrestible urge to get a second G 23 less than a month after I bought the first one?

If not - and I hope not - how could I justify this purchase? Thanks.

While I've never bought a glock, almost have, I know the feeling. It happened when I shot the Ruger SR9c and my cz-75 SP01 Phantom.

I'm sure it'll happen when I finally break down and buy a glock.

Why have one when you can have two for twice the price?

I once ended up with two Jeep Grand Wagoneers at the same time due to my propensity for this strange logic.
I recently did the same when purchasing a second M57 two weeks after purchasing the first, but that was due to the insane value I felt they represent (and still do).

If you're not wanting to spend the money for a second G23, then know they'll be around for a long long time. Just purchase plenty of spare 13-round magazine in case you do purchase that second G23.
If you really do simply want justification for another G23, why not just go for it? It's not like you'll be out a ton of cash or end up with a pistol you can't use.

two is one, one is none. :D

You might have an easier time justifying a 27 or a 19 or a 30 or 24 or 34 or something. But if you want another 23, get one. They're good pistols.

If this gun is your "go-to" defensive sidearm, you carry regularly and it is your only one, there is nothing wrong with having a matching gun. Should you actually have to shoot someone with it, it will be taken from you at least for the duration of the investigation and may even be held in evidence for an extended period. The aftermath of a shooting is a very bad time to be unarmed.

Which generation? 3 or 4? I have a 23, 3rd gen. Love it! Why get a 23, again? There is the 22 or the 27, also. I decided to grab a 27. Great gun. Uses the same holster and magazines as the 23. They are complementary. You can get extensions and have a similar grip size to a 23.

I just think a person loses a lot of versatility with two of the same gun. But, Hey! It's your money.

The fictional character, Lara Croft, pulls it off, but I don't see shooting two of the same guns in tandem to be possible in real life, even for an LEO.

I have a 23, 27 and a 21 (45 ACP). I may do a 30 next. Why? The magazines are complementary. No compatibility with the 21 magazine on a single stack 36.

I asked myself the same question a couple years ago. I initially decided to get a 27 but after a few months I sold it and did what I should have did in the first place. I bought the second G23 and never looked back.

+1 on getting a G27 next, but if you want another 23 go for it! My plan is to eventually have several Glocks with interchangeable mags/ammo secured at different places throughout the house.

"...two hands"...I LOVE that!

Thanks, browneu! :) I don't know how anyone can beat that argument! Thanks for ALL the thoughtful inputs.

Incidentally, where could the magazines be bought from at the best prices? Thanks.

You can justify the second purchase as a gift to your old pal Black Butte. :D Alternatively, you could keep a .357 Sig barrel in one, or have multiple defense guns located at strategic points in your home. Maybe get a double-sided holster and draw and shoot two handed, or have a carry gun for the Mrs.
