OK, I have pushed the pin out holding the sear in. But there is NO existing sear spring in this gun at this time, so there is no visual aid for me as to how it is placed among/within the sear.

Now, the sear itself is "loose", but it will not come completely free - it is stuck loosely inside its "hole" due to the hammer preventing it from being removed. I think that if I could get the sear out, I could figure out how the spring goes in.

So, questions:

1. Must I remove the hammer in order to replace the sear spring, or not?

2. How does the spring attach or is aligned to keep the sear pushed forward along its rotation on the pin?

All of the online manuals (such as this one: http://www.e-gunparts.com/productschem.asp?chrMasterModel=1300z52 PISTOL ) show far too little detail as to how the spring attaches to the sear, to allow me to figure it out.

3. So, are there any more extremely detailed online schematics, besides this one that I find just about everywhere?

4. Is the spring aligned to the left or to the right of the sear? The pin goes through the hole in the spring, I assume? But I see no "catches" on the sear, onto which the "hook" on the short arm of the spring can attach - weird. When installed, is the short arm of the spring pointing up or down?

5. Any other guidance on how to get this spring in correctly?

Thanks! :)

Hmm, thanks for the pic, but I cannot tell what's going on there. Oh, I know why - that's a CZ75, not a CZ 52 - ha.

I installed the spring with the "long arm" pointing down, and the short arm pointing forward, with the hook on the short arm going to the right, catching the top of the sear, about halfway down. But I re-assembled and that must not be it because it still doesn't catch the hammer. Dangit....

OK, so now I removed the hammer and the sear STILL won't come out.

This just doesn't make any sense, on how this spring goes in...

Nicky, that's great; thanks. Thanks explains everything. Makarov.com sold me the wrong freakin part - no wonder. Mine doesn't look at all like the one in the pics in that thread. Well a little, but way different where it counts. So I'm not a **** after all. Very frustrating though. The right parts do help a bit.
