I seen that earlier, crock of crap if you ask me. People who go through a trust to get these firearms, never use thm in a crime. They are just trying to chip away any right or make it more difficult average Joe to have these things.

This one isn't likely to get anywhere since it would have to get past the House, but we should respond to every one of them by sending emails to our elected officials and by going to PopVox and filing against it.

This proposed legislation is an obvious empty gesture. It's not going anywhere. Besides the fact that these are Democrats sponsoring this in a Republican-controlled House, they already "poison pilled" their own plan by putting in the excise tax increase on guns and ammunition. It would have had a (slightly) better chance if it was limited just to NFA transfer taxes.

Also a 20% excise tax on firearms and a 50% tax on ammunition.
If you add up all the federal/state/local taxes on firearms, they're ALREADY taxed at 20% in most places. Same with ammunition.

This measure would increase the total taxes on firearms to about 44% in most places and the tax on ammunition to about 80%.

It would have had a (slightly) better chance if it was limited just to NFA transfer taxes.

How about getting our "poison pill" added to all these -- reopen the machine gun registry.
