Huge Plastic Jugs

anyone ever consider getting one of these, and use something like Dawn liquid to fully clean it..??

I'm pretty sure powder canisters are specifically designed to "break" apart easily in case of fire so they don't "explode"..................But I'm not the designer.........

I would NEVER use any other container to transfer powder into. You may think you got everything out with dish soap... but you don't. You would, literally, have to steam the container to get everything out.

My question would be... what material do they make powder cans out of? They are generally labeled as HDPE, but I wonder if they don't have something else mixed in there to cut down on static, or that makes it impervious to something like Nitroglycerine?

Why deal with round containers???? I empty a ramshot or accurate powder and use those containers.... the labels peel right off imr and hogden bottles and go right on the square containers... I've been missed by the giant 8s mine come in one gallon bottles
Another interesting factor I hadn't come across. The only non-round containers i have are my 4lb and 8lb ones, they are all rectangular. Granted I don't usually buy 1lb bottles of powder. All the ones I have came as part of a trade or were gifted to me...WST, Clays, Trailboss, Titegroup .

I have to agree. It just makes no sense.

Been peelin' and re-stickin' powder labels for quite a while. I have some 8# labels cut to fit 1#, etc. I use clear packing tape when the original adhesive gets weak.

I rather like the 8# jugs. The price per pound is usually a little leas with the 8 pounders.
Be sure to do the math when buying powder...especially when it is on sale.

A while back I stumbled across some Winchester 244 1lb bottles at $25 a bottle at Graf & Sons. But the Clearance price didn't extend to 4lb or 8lb bottles, which were priced at $10 more per pound...I guess they had too many 1lb bottles. I just bought 8 of them

Yes, this is true!

I save a 1 lb container from when I work up loads and transfer to it from the 8 lb keg for easy handling at the measure and press. Labels are correct, no peeling required. Containers from powder I didn't stay with went to recycle.

Probably carbon black to drain static and opaque the can against UV.
