Match and in this case slightly exceed published velocities for factory 30-30 loadings and it only took a 30" yes THIRTY INCH barrel to do it..

I snagged this beauty at the Tulsa gunshow yesterday a Cimarron low wall in my current pet cartridge of 30-30wcf.

Today I took it to the family range (very short) just to make sure it would go bang and was zeroed in the general direction of down range. Just for giggles I got the chronograph out as I had two factory 170g loads on hand from winchester and remington

The numbers are as follows
170g Rem Core-Lokt
Average velocity 2292 for 6 shots
ES 71 (starting with a clean oiled bore)
+92 fps from factory spec

170g Winchester power point
2213 average 5 shots
ES 35
+13 fps from factory spec.

My intent is to add to this thread as I test more loads both factory and handload in various barrel lengths. Of which I have four examples on hand. A 20" win94, a 24" sav840, an encore bbl 26" and the 30" low wall mentioned above.

Your rifle makes me think of the late 1890's (like its supposed to)...even though I didn't live through them. I would like a gun configured like that but it wouldn't fit in my safe! :uhoh:

Very nice. I would love to take something like that to a b bench rest match. I will be curious to see the velocity numbers for the Hornad Leverevolution ammo.

Nice, but how you gonna mount a red dot on it? May have to use ducktape...;)

Nice looking rifle. Like the look of the color case hardening on the receiver and the finish of the wood. The peep sight is a nice touch.
