.43 Mauser. AKA 11.15x60Rmm Mauser and 11x60Rmm Mauser. Stole this. "...designed by Paul Mauser and adopted by the German military in 1871 with the M71 bolt action, single shot Mauser rifle..."

I'm not trying to be a wise apple here, but is it possible you have a 45 acp round headstamped 43? This was a common headstamp on war issued ammunition manufactured in 1943.

Sorry but I had a lapse. It is a loaded cartridge. Definitely has 43 stamped and a couple of other letters around the rim. My cell phone will not focus on the stamp or I would post a pic.

It is definitely NOT a 45 ACP or LC as I have those cartridges. I will post a photo of the "bullet" next to a couple of other cartridges later this evening for comparison.

It sounds like a .45 pistol cartridge, dated 1943. If you can tell us what the letters are we can tell you who made it. (Some possibilities: EC, ECS, LC, RA, WRA, WCC.)

There are a couple of things it COULD be (43 Mauser, 43 Spanish, 43 Egyptian), but to know which is going to take a picture, the headstamp, and/or some precise measurements.

If it were any of those it would't say 43 on it.

I'm with Jim K on this one.

The OP has a 1943 military cartridge of some sort.

Could be .45 ACP, could be .30 Carbine, could be 30-06, could be .38 Special, could be 9mm?

But without a photo, or some measurements we can only guess.

Sorry for the delay but I have been a bit busy for the past week. The cartridge on the far right is the 43. From left to right we have a 9mm, 32 long, .45ACP, 38 spc, 357 mag and the 43.
If I had to guess on the other two letters I would say that they are a P and a C located at approximately 10 and 2 on the cartridge.

There were 6 different calibers in this one box of 32 ammunition. From 22 LR up to this one. All of the others are understandable as there are guns in that caliber in the house. There is no gun that shoots a .30 caliber.
