Yeah, single hole in the head between the eye and ear and I am not thinking it is from the random spread of a shotgun blast. That deer was poached and poached on your property. If the projectile didn't go all the way through, I would have called it it to the GW and they could retrieve the bullet for evidence.

That's a thought but idk if they would take the time to do ballistic testing for this. You would have to have a suspect then get his rifle to do a test shot to compare the projectiles. If this was a murder sure but for poaching I doubt such efforts would be made

Seven years ago I had rotator cuff surgery . That was a long painful recovery . This recent surgery was to remove a mole 6 weeks ago . They did pretty much the same cut that time . After removing it the lab discovered that it was melanoma . I had to get the surgery again and remove a larger area . Fingers crossed that they got it all .

I had the same surgery in the same place 20 years ago. I was amazed to see the cut area afterwards. It was 5 times the size I expected. The good news is the more they cut, the better the chances are for a full recovery. I sincerely hope your results are the same as mine.

Investigating poaching is what they do. Besides, how do you know they don't have a suspect?

Maybe it is a one-off. Even so, North Carolina seems to take it pretty seriously if you have any concerns.

I did call and sent them that picture, they never came out here . They just made a report . It took them a day to call me back .

I have seen just one shotgun pellet in a deer head once that killed it . The first deer that my brother killed with his 20ga 1100 when he was about 13 years old . My grandpa was skinning it and said I can’t find a place that you even hit this deer . You must have scared it to death . Then he found one hole in its head .
