"I got the left-handed criminal..."

That was a very good, level headed, honest story of self defense. He came out of it with the best of all results. He is alive, he didn't spend everything he would ever make defending himself, and he won. Can not beat that.

The N.R.A. should put that in their self defense videos!

Similar happened to me last year. Supposedly this happens 2.5 to 3.5 million times per year... No shots fired but assault is prevented using the threat of a firearm.

For what it's worth, a scripted TV scenario of a similar situation with a right handed attacker led me to believe that having a backup gun accessible with the left hand is a good idea for a defense run the driver's seat.

Superb video! It confirms a lot of my suspicions, too. Funny, it reminded me of an exchange on another forum (on the topic of manual safeties). Someone mentioned that you could forget the safety to which I pointed out that you could also forget to pull the trigger, for which I was howled down. Well, the guy in this video forgot to put his finger on the trigger! I think that you can't assume you'll be able to do anything for which you haven't practiced and mentally prepared, even very simple things.

There's only one minor quibble I have withe otherwise excellent video. He states towards the end that had he not had his own firearm he'd have had no options at all. I disagree strenuously on that score. The firearm is a tool, you are the weapon. It looks like that's an area of concern that many people neglect.

Great stuff, though. I subscribe to his channel but somehow I'd never seen that particular one before.
