The couple of times I sent things back, I never got a shipping label. Some will refund you the shipping, some wont. You really have to read the small print there too.
I agree with epags, I kind of doubt the CC will do much as you did receive them, and have modified them. But, heres hoping for ya.
It's a myth that eBay and PayPal always side with the buyer.a few years back when I was living in an apartment building I ordered an item and I never got it but the Post Office tracking showed that it was delivered.well obviously they delivered to the wrong apartment and eBay and PayPal sided with the seller because the tracking said delivered even after I explained to them that it was not delivered to me.
If the post office "shows" it was delivered, good luck getting anywhere. To eBay and the postal service, if it shows delivered, it was delivered and that ends the deal.
I had a hell of a time with one knife I sold on there. First off, I said right at the top of the listing that I didnt ship outside of the US, and the guy that won it was from Austrailia. I told him no, and he begged me and siad he'd pay the added shipping, yada, yada, yada, and dumb **** me, said OK as long as it was OK with their customs, which on their site, it was. The knife went for $100, the shipping was $70.
I tracked it and it showed "delivered". He filed with eBay and PayPal saying he never got it. Turned out, customer called him to come in and sign for it and he was in a panic and wouldn't. PayPal locked my account for that amount and refunded his money.
I called their customs and got ahold of the people who had it, and at first was told it was never there, and then when I asked for the supervisor he said hold on, and came back and said, oh, no, its there, but its a prohibited item (not according to their website), and they wont deliver it to him, he has to come sign for it, and they must have threatened him, or alluded to that, because he wont. I did talk to the supervisor and got the run around from him too.Dont know what was going on there, but I have a feeling one of those boys at customs was getting the knife.
Call USPS and want to start the insurance claim, and they say as far as they are concerned, it was delivered, because it was in customs, and he was notified to come get it.
The other problem there is, even if the insurance claim was filed, you have to wait for a period of time first before they will do anything, and it would take over a month or more for it to go through, and you still might not get it. PayPAy at best, "might" give you 30 days. So no matter what, eBay and PayPal were giving him his money back.
So I was out the money, the knife, and the extra shipping. Still chaps my ass.
Ive had a number of people win from out of the states, and after that one, refused to do it, and offered it to the next guy for what he bid. Dealing with the public for stuff like this is a MAJOR PITA. I really have to wonder sometimes if a lot of the people on there arent either illiterate, retarded, or drunk, and maybe a combination of all three. I usually made out well on there, but I hated dealing with a lot of the people.
As to the drunk thing. Once I got to thinking about it, I started setting my auctions up to end on a Sat. or Sun. at around suppertime. I figured people were off, and probably enjoying having a few in the afternoon, and would be more prone to bid things up after a few. Dont know if it was really the case, but I did see a pretty decent bump after I started doing that, and the bidding wars did seem to increase.
The other thing I never understood there was, people will pay more for something than it cost new, and for things readily available, online elsewhere right then. You dont think it was the booze at work, do you.
