Right after I was born, doc slapped my butt, then he handed me a Ruger single six. I immediately stopped crying.

Just a year or two after we were wed, mrs f bought a custom Kirkpatrick rig for my one and only centerfire handgun, a Ruger Blackhawks 4⅝ .357. That reverse cant, undercut, Kirkpatrick fast draw rig has hung on our bedpost for over 35yrs now. We slept pretty soundly knowing that blackhawk was within my reach, and I assure you that back then, I knew how to run it too.
Nowadays there are teenagers and toddlers everywhere you look, so the gun is locked away. But that blackhawk served me as well as any gun I have ever owned.
My Dads .357 Blackhawk was his first and only centerfire handgun for 25 odd years. It did nightstand duty until just recently, when it got displaced by an (even older) Argentine Ballaster Molina .45. :what:

Of course, his primary home defense gun is a JC Higgins bolt action 12ga, so he definitely isnt "tacticool." :D
