My design was picked as a finalist in Ruger 50th anniversary 10/22 Design Contest. The contest is now open for voting to pick the grand prize winner.

Ruger cut off most of my description so I thought I would lay out the idea here.

The idea is something that Ruger would and could actually make using existing Ruger parts/design concepts.

Basically it is a stainless rifle using a distributor exclusive they make for AcuSport which has a 18" threaded barrel (or a cut down 16" bbl for the compact version). It includes the mud guard (to protect the muzzle/crown from dirt, cement etc while in prone. And of course the threaded barrel allows the use of any other kind of muzzle device (comps, flash hider, suppressor)

Peep and post sights are off a Mini 14/30 in order to utilize existing Ruger design. Though Tech Sights or the Nodak rear with rail is a preferred option.

A pictinny rail is added for optic mounting.

Stock is directly from the Ruger American Rimfire and gives the option of standard or compact, iron or optic sights and a sling

By using Ruger parts/existing designs it might just be affordable.

Voted for you. Still in third place.

I hope yours wins. I really do like it the best out of the choices there. I'd buy it.

I voted for you. It's a pretty cool design!

Your more robust description did help me to feel like I voted out of sincerity. The descriptions on the Ruger website are rather spartan.

You are currently in 3rd place. Interestingly, the two ahead of you are the two take-down models. Good luck! At least you are good for a Ruger product of your choice either way.

No offense, but I prefer Chris from Tennessee's rifle.

Me too, assuming the lightweight barrel is threaded for a suppressor, wasn't totally clear and there were two very similar multi-barrel takedown setups in the finals.

You can vote once per day. Not sure I understand the rationale behind allowing this.

Kind of wish I'd done mine as a take down also.:D

I was just trying to come up with something that Ruger would actually make and could sell at an affordable price.

I don't think the one voted in will become THE OFFICIAL anniversary model. I think it will be in addition to what ever Ruger comes up with.

So my idea was to have an out of the box rifle with decent iron sights, provision to mount a scope and a stock that has sling studs on it and was adaptable for iron sights or scope and for large and small people.

If that makes sense, vote for me. If not, no hard feelings, I already get my choice of a Ruger firearm so I've already won. :D However, I would like to choose $5K more worth of Ruger guns so vote for me anyway. :neener:

Voted for ya, Brother, but I preferred Alan in CO's Scout looking rifle. Kinda interesting how the different states seemed to mimic their personalities. For example, CA's rifle was a fancy, sports car looking rig. VT, a funny little socialist, granola munching state, who has some outstanding carry laws, had an AR style rifle. Traditional, mid-west farm country had traditional wood stocks....

Cool little glimpse of Americana

I voted for you because I think you have a very cool concept going. Honestly, though, if I were to buy one of the finalists, I'd buy the one by Rick in Alabama. I'm a sucker for great wood and blued steel.

Burke from California needs to go to rehab or something. :)

I actually really like that one. It's nicely done. But I understand that it's a bit over the top and why it would be attractive only to a small minority.
