I think I'm becoming a revolver guy

Ever since my first revolver, I have enjoyed them. But it has occurred to me that all I really want these days are revolvers (still wouldn't mind a high end 9mm semi-auto, but that's for another day). When I go to gun shops, I look for revolvers first. All of my reloading is for revolvers. They just have an appeal that I don't get from a semi-auto. Working the hammer, working the cylinder, the relative simplicity of the design, the history, the cool look that they have, the accuracy, the great single action trigger. It's all winning me over. My first revolver was a 357 used blackhawk , then a Uberti SAA clone in 45 Colt, Then the Anaconda. And just yesterday the GP 100 in 357. I'll still shoot my semi-autos of course, and I will probably buy others, but for now, give me a revolver!

I guess I am too, but for me it's they seem to answer more "what for" questions.

I'm about 50-50 on rev vs. auto when it comes to acquiring collectible milsurps. This is a matter of which army adopted what gun, plus current price and availability.

My defensive carry arms are currently 75-25 in favor of revolvers. Higher capacity vs. ease of use with one hand injured.

Fun to shoot is about 50-50 if we include rimfires. Autoloader pistols are generally easier to clean after shooting but require a lot more range cleanup hunting for reloadable ejected brass.

Revolver was the first firearm I bought for myself (6" S&W 629)

I've always been a revolver guy.

They are simple yet complex, a workhorse but asthetically gorgeous in the eye of many.

I'll never be without at least one revolver in my collection.

I prefer revolvers, though I also appreciate my Glock pistols. I consider myself a revolver guy. Currently I have 12 revolvers and 5 semiautos. A couple of years ago I had 15 revolvers and 3 Glocks. I gifted a couple of percussion revolvers to a friend and I had a S&W model 60 Pro lemon I ditched once S&W finally got it right.

Currently I have:
1 Colt, 3 Rugers and 8 Smith & Wessons

S&W N-Frames in 357 and 44 are excellent. I really like the eight shot N-Frames. Four inch barrels are good for carry but five inch barrels seem to be a sweet spot that balances handiness with accuracy.

The number of parts in a Glock 17 is smaller than most (all?) revolvers
The expected round count for firearm for firearm lifetime is also higher for a Glock
Like a revolver is great but they really are not the choice when your life is under threat.

I was a life-long semi-auto guy, but strangely, in the past ten years, I've been acquiring revolvers over autoloaders at about a 5 to 1 rate. And my new favorite all-purpose revolver - concealable, lightweight, so accurate, and tames full-house .357s while .38s are pussycats through it, best trigger out of the box -- DA and SA -- of any production revolver I've owned in the past 40 years.

I am partial to revolvers myself, though I love just about all types of guns. My dad has always been a wheelgun guy and I guess it just kind of rubbed off on me as well. Ruger and Smiths have always been my go to brands but I also dabble with Taurus, Heritage and several brands of black powder percussion revolvers as well.

Stefan,

Stick with autos. Your attraction to revolvers will
only tighten the market for new/used/collectables.

You won't be as happy with autos but who cares?

Dont worry, My lack of funds will even it out :)

I use a p365x for carry and my bedside gun is a Glock 17. But if I’m going to the range for enjoyment, I’m shooting a revolver.

Very nice. I was recently deciding between the King Cobra and the GP100. Bought the Ruger, but would have been happy with the Colt. Just wanted to save $150 :). That colt has a great trigger and hammer, much like my Anaconda.

Love revolver hunting 38/357. Plus my Rossi 92,also 38/357. I have no use for a semi. Did have a semi 22 once.. worthless. My opinion only.. happy new year everyone..

After the military I learnt pistolcraft in a gun club by shooting a club owned Colt OMM for a couple of years and it resulted in a long-lasting love affair with wheel guns I still enjoy shooting my revolvers, especially the Korths, but that will in no way diminish my interest and appreciation of semi auto pistols.
I am an avid handgunner, enjoying handgun shooting even more than rifle shooting, but when it comes to guns diversity isn't just good, it is great!
