"Actually Time magazine has an article on how evangelicals helped Trump win."
I guess the big realization this go around is that you don't have to actually be one to win their support (which is why Cruz never caught on with them). I'm not one, but I have to assume they are much like gun owners in that they don't want a candidate in their own image so much as someone who is not actively hostile to their way of life. Simple lesson, but an important one, and hopefully future leaders won't try to pander so hard (and the party won't restrict its support to panderers) and instead simply respect & represent these groups; unlike the Democrats, the Republicans' shaky coalition isn't bound together by ticking off check boxes on a candidate & some hush money. Makes the party much harder to manage for an 'activist' type leader because of all the conflicted motivations.
"Today they were as crowded, but nobody was buying - we were just drinking the store's coffee, eating their donuts, and spending some nice face time with like minded freedom folks!"
Give it a day or two. Both with Obama and Newtown, it wasn't instantaneous. Lot of the panic-prone type of folks are still sleeping off the all-night nail-biter and whatever drinking game fueled the carnage. I'm sure many folks are cancelling drunken orders, but a large number are also now willing to enter the market for typical purchases (Black Friday deals, anyone?) without fear or worry it will be gone or being overrun by obnoxious 'neckbeards' shoving their way to the front of the line. What's funny, is that since these goods are durable and really don't take up that much space in the grand scheme of things (compared to automobiles for instance), distributors can hold onto them and slowly let the stockpile dwindle down to more desirable levels, and not lose much 'opportunity cost' in the end. I doubt we'll see Pmags drop to 4$ a mag or something, prices were pretty much historically bottomed as of a month ago, and just barely blipped up before the good election news.
