I've heard they're nose-heavy, too, but that a LOT of that weight is in the front handguard, and that can be replaced.

They are muzzle heavy - mainly because of the heavier barrel. The handguard is bigger than a standard AK, too.

The receiver is also a tad longer than a standard AK, as well as having thicker walls than a regular stamped AK. These are made from RPK receivers. Very strong. These are very good AKs. Just not the handiest.

As for replacing the front handguard... With what? It doesn't use standard AK furniture.
 
There is supposedly an Ultimak front handguard on the horizon, but afaik it isn't out yet, and there are no other front handguards on the market.

The front handguard is heavy, but the barrel is still what is causing most of the front-heavyness...
