They are muzzle heavy - mainly because of the heavier barrel. The handguard is bigger than a standard AK, too.
The receiver is also a tad longer than a standard AK, as well as having thicker walls than a regular stamped AK. These are made from RPK receivers. Very strong. These are very good AKs. Just not the handiest.
As for replacing the front handguard... With what? It doesn't use standard AK furniture.
