...today to test loads. I was using my Ruger No. 1A in 6.5x55SE (for 3rd rifle season, deer, here in CO). My 40.0gr VV N550 produced 0.5" groups at 100 yds, my 41.0gr VV N550 loads produced two shots touching, 3rd shot flyers at 1" groups. My aim point was 1.6" high at 100 yds for a spot on 200 yd load, 275 yd point blank load. Now for a pair of insulated socks.

I'll go with 140gr GameKing bullets, Fed 210M primers, 1x Lapua cases and 41.0gr VV 550 powder.

Wish me luck.

Twist is 1:8", glass is a Leupold VX3 2.5-8x36. It's just a great set-up and the twist is evidently just right for 139-142gr bullets.

I've also had excellent results with Sierra's 142gr MatchKing and IMR 4895. My Rugers surprise and please me every time I shoot them.
