I will no longer buy ammo from Dicks Sporting Goods

When Dick's bought out Galyan's here in Indy, they really went downhill fast. Customer service and product selection are not nearly as good, and the local stores treat guns as something icky that they're carrying just because us Hoosiers are such neanderthals.

These days, I go to Gander Mountain instead, if I want to go to a big sporting-goods store. In addition to a very wide selection of guns, ammo and accessories, they have an excellent selection of [girly stuff warning!] nice clothing, too.

Even without the attitude, the local Dick's stores just don't offer a wide or unique enough selection of products to make them worth my while.

I forgot who it was but someone said that Dick's isn't just the company name, it's also the slogan of the Customer Service, employees, and management.

Gander Mt or local gun stores are the place I'll go now. dicks dicked Galyans, a local company and have their anti-handgun policy so I'll spend money elsewhere.

I don't buy anything from them since they took over the local Galyans. Galyans sold handguns and handgun ammo. They also sold handgun accessories.

When Dicks moved in, they immediately discontinued handgun sales "as a matter of store policy". Then the handgun ammo decreased in size, then the accessories (holsters, cleaning kits, etc) disappeared.

I won't so much as buy a water bottle from them. They've got their political agenda, I've got my money agenda. The two no longer intersect

Even without the notebook hassle, Dicks out here in PA just stinks. Their prices seem to almost be above MSRP and their customer service doesnt exist. The employees just stand around chatting while you wait for service. They really are a joke. Coming from Texas where I shopped at Academy, it is a real let down.
