Should it be a nice Ruger 22/45 or a stellar Ruger SR22P?

I have and love the SR22. I have a few mags already, so you could say I'm invested. :D Unfortunately every other time I go out to shoot my Fiance's got it. She loves the gun and keeps it in her car.

I think the 22/45 looks and feels great as well too though! Kinda torn since the Fiance is wondering what I want for our anniversary... (Don't worry, she's getting spoiled too)

LCR .22 and SP101 .22 are in consideration as well. But this is the Semi-auto forum after all!

Thoughts?

I'd get what fit my hand best, unless there was a specific use for the new gun or a goal like small game hunting or long-range target work. For recreational informal shooting, there's nothing wrong with a second sr22, for more precise applications, the mkIII and 22/45 are closer to being dedicated target pistols.

I understand being invested in one frame style/mag/etc, for me that's my mkIIIs with traditional frame, both the Mrs and I like the ergonomics and there's a huge aftermarket, of the two I'm running, one is down to the frame, pins, disconnector, bolt, and some springs being Ruger-made, the rest is aftermarket!

Buy what you like best. If you can't decide which is the better purchase here, impress your GF and buy the cheaper of the two ... or maybe the more expensive of the two

Life is short and you have plenty of time to get that next perfect gun. Or you could do as my wife does and buy them both.

If I already had a SR22, I'd certainly want the SP101 in .22LR, assuming I didn't already own another D/A revolver in the caliber.

But, that's me, and I am kind of looking for such a revolver already.

I have one of each. SR22 is fun and somewhat like Glock I carry so it's kinda my cheap training pistol

The 22-45 is a true shooter. Great trigger, solid hunting gun. Much more accurate, but bigger and heavier...
