Ok guys me and a buddy were discussing this at length and I thought I would ask you guys so what would it be. If you could bulid any gun not just for hd but any gun. I think a full auto 9mm AR 15 with a 12 inch barrel and a suppressor and 30 round mag would be fun. Please don't just say a pump 12 gauge have fun with it.

Like this one? 9mm AR, 12", suppressed, and select fire (full auto).

It was a riot!

My HD gun is a PS90. However, I would really want a P90.

I'm trying to SBR my current one, and suppressed would be outstanding! They are a great gun.

I like my Taurus Judge with the 3" cylinder. No fears of shooting up my neighborhood, almost guaranteed to hit my target and no cycling jams. While I still have my semi's, revolvers are the closest at hand lately.

I think my ideal HD weapon with no restrictions would be a 12" select fire (3rd burst/semi) in 5.7x28. It would be equipped with a Trijicon RMR Amber dot, AAC M4-2000, compact adjustable stock, foregrip, 50rd mags, Phase 5 battery assist lever, left side charging upper (Ares or LAR Grizzly), and an ATN Mars4 Gen 3 on a QD mount. Oh, and it would have 1911 grips :)

I would build a totally custom weapon based on the HK416.

I would invent a new caliber - let's call it "Jenny's Super-Thirty". Take the 10mm case, neck it down to .30 cal and load it hot enough to equal the 7.62x39 but faster, lighter, and flatter shooting. (Just humor me on this....not sure if it's practical). The bullets for this round would weigh 110 grains and have tungsten cores and would be black teflon-coated, just to really tick off the antigunners!

The rifle itself would take Surefire-style quad stack magazines, so each mag would hold about 60 rounds. I would want an integrally suppressed short barrel (10") flat top HK416 upper with a holographic sight that can turn into a Gen IV night vision unit (hey, it's fantasy, right?) and backup tritium iron sights. The rifle would of course be select fire, and it would come with a spare flat top 24" upper as well chambered in 5.56mm and capable of mounting a long range scope.

For appearances sake, I would have the rifle come in a matte stainless finish. The pistol grip would be shaped like a 1911 grip, and would be able to use 1911 grips. Of course I would have a custom "silverwood" laminate grip with my initials in silver inside a silver laurel wreath. The folding stock on the rifle would be matte stainless as well. Handguards, cheekpads, etc. would be made of "silverwood" laminate.

Yep... I got this one down!

Build it from the ground up? Take the KRISS Vector SMG, suppress it, and bump it up to .50 GI. Add on a good reflex sight and a light.

Since no SBRs are allowed in my state, I'm looking forward to the Daniel Defense ISR release in April which permanently integrates a 5.7" suppressor with a 10.3″ CHF SBR barrel in .300BLK to hit the 16" minimum so only one tax stamp is required. Subsonic .300BLK with a 220gr SMK appears to be similar to a .45ACP in ballistics, but I get more capacity and the control out of a carbine platform over a handgun.

Even with the "no restrictions" option, I don't want select-fire or an SBR with a detachable can since I don't share cans across multiple firearms. Until then, I use this for daily carry, home defense, and the "pew pew pew".

Why would I want to shred my house?

LOL... Though I do have to agree...

Maybe all these people live in sprawling mansions with 2000sqf rooms and have watched Scarface too many times??

For that scenario a MP5SD. For my country home, one of the many handguns I own...

I would like to be able to adapt my AR carbine to accept a suppressor but those are evil in my state...

I'd use an AR15 similar to the one Cesiumsponge posted above.

Most of the time, my current HD gun is an AR15 in 5.56. I wouldn't mind a shorter, suppressed version.
