If you could have one shotgun, one pistol and one rifle, what would it be?

Handgun; S&W 686+ three inch barrel.
Rifle; M1 Garand
Shotgun; 870 with two barrels, 1) 18 inch cylinder bore 2) 22 inch Modified choke.

5-6 inch s&w 686, (or highway patrol)
20 inch mossberg 500 (i know the 590 is more robust, but there are way more 500s out there for spares)
20 inch marlin. 357 lever gun.

smith model 29 with 6 inch barrel
.44 mag marlin lever gun
shotgun stays the same

18 inch m1a1 (but more likely an ar in 223, once again parts availibilt

The older I get the less these "what ifs" interest me but I fell for this one.
I like these games, it helps me to thin down the herd. Every time I play I get rid of something I don't need or don't use and change it for something I can or will.

I'm sure there are better choices but here are mine.

Rifle - SCAR17 - Different barrel options and enough power to hunt with.

Handgun - CZ75 - Cheating a bit here in that I can get the cadet kit for 22lr shooting

Shotgun - Mossberg 500 - Not the best shotgun but the one I'm most comfortable with.

Shotgun: Benelli M2 field model, black 28" (maybe some day. . . )

LOL!!!! Out of any rifle he picks a P.O.S Norinco sks?? if you like sks's why not a russian or even a non Norinco chinese? i think if i was forced to carry a Norinco sks in addition to my shotgun and pistol i would throw it at an assailant hoping he would pick it up and attempt to fire the damn thing..the look on his face would be priceless as it either jammed,FTF'ed,or the top of the reciever blew off as a friend of mine had one do.

If I only had to choose three my choices may not be "main stream" but they work like a dream for me. My Rifle and handgun would run off the same ammo. My rifle would be a Uberti 1873 Lever Action Rifle in 44-40 with an 24.5 inch barrel and a 13+1 Round capacity. My handgun would be a Uberti 1875 Top Break in 44-40 with a 7 Inch Barrel and a 6 Round Capacity (of course). As for my shotgun a Saiga 12Ga. with 20 Inch Barrel and a 10+1 Round Capacity. Maybe not the most typical combo but it what I'm good with.

Shotgun - Punt gun mounted on the back of a Freightliner semi with the back of the sleeping cab cut out, and with a 15 passenger van body welded to the back to make a super-van....

Rifle(?)- Bulldog Gatling in 45-70 (it's sorta-kinda a rifle!)

my left shoulder barely works, I can't take impact on my good one... turret mounted guns the best option :D

Pistol - Freedom arms premium grade, octagonal barrelled model 97 (the transfer bar one) .45/454

As long as we're dreaming... dream big :D

Pistol - Colt M1917 New Service (want it). A simple, reliable hand cannon that can shoot ACP. Yes please.

Shotgun - Mossberg 590A1 (have it). The extra two shots and the simplified bayonet lug make it an easy choice. I made mine into a WWII winchester lookalike out of preference.

Rifle - Win. 1892 carbine (have it). It's a close call between this and my 91/30 Mosin, but when it comes down to it, I think .357 is a heck of a more versatile round than 54R. Plus, I like how this one feels in my hands...I would take it to the ends of the Earth.

I retract my former smart ass reply (Oswald's Carcano etc) and add an honest reply. Rifle-Win 94 30/30 shotgun-Savage M24 22lr/20 ga, handgun-S&W M317 kitgun. I have these and regard the 22s as the key guns.

jmresistance; Its clear. You like I love reliable weapons over all. + 1
Except for the Glock those are my second choices.

A 12 gauge pump(my old mossberg works fine)

A 22lr(my old marlin 60 works fine)

A .357 revolver with a 4" barrel (my old taurus works fine)(9MM a close second probably a G19)

Do I have nicer guns?Absolutely.Do they shoot any better than these?Absolutely not. They are an extension of my right arm.

Shotgun: FN SLP Tactical (have it)

Rifle: Colt AR-15 (want it)

Pistol: NightHawk GRP Recon (dream)

If we are talking 1 of each forever and we need to plan for the unlikely possibility that the SHTF I want something I can find ammo for. ie: been produced and widely available for years....sooooo

Rifle: L1a1, FAL
Shotgun: Rem 870 12g
Pistol: Glock 17

I'd like to update my list of three. Its actually quite amazing how much its changed in the last year with respect to finances, increased shooting experience, increased knowledge of reloading, and overall goals in life:

Originally:

Hunting:

Browning Maxus 12ga with 30" barrel and 22" rifled barrel
Browning BAR Zenith in 308 Winchester
S&W 22 K-Masterpiece

Day at the range:

Saiga 12 with Bullpup conversion kit & 20rd drum mag
Kel-Tec RFB
FNP 45 Tactical

Now (assuming 22's are left out):

Shotgun: my current and reliable Browning Gold Fusion 12ga with all its choke tubes
Rifle: Weatherby Vanguard Sporter with barrel sights in 300 Wby Mag, shooting custom loads to mimic a moderate 300 H&H Mag load
Pistol: FNX-40

If 22's are included, I'd keep the same list, but add my great grand fathers hand me down Remington TargetMaster Model 41 22LR to the list.

This will be my very first post on here, just registered finally.

Rifle, a lefty AR 15 would do nicely, or pretty much anything with a thumb hole stock (lefty, of course.)
Shotguns I don't know enough about to be able to say.
Pistol, I would say at the moment I seem to be drawn towards 1911s.

Pistol - Springfield XDm Compact .40 S&W. If they made a compact .45, I might go with that.

Rifle - Probably go with an AR-15 variant. I like the idea of an AK-like piston system, but with AR ergonomics.

Shotgun - Benelli M2 with ComforTech stock.

My Choices - 3 Gun

Rifle - Rem 700 in 30-06
Shotgun - Ithica Model 37 DeerSlayer with 28" Modified Rib and 20" deerslug barrel.
Pistol - Ruger GP100 - 357Mag.

This trio has served me well for years.
Thank you.
