Well, I have not seen this type thread posted lately . If you can only have a limited number of guns what would they be. Please be specific regarding city or country gun needs .
If I lived in the country my choices would be: Rem 870 with two barrels (18 inch rifle sighted and 26 inch adjustible choke), CZ 452 .22Lr, Rem 700 .308, Bushy C7 version (fixed stock, A1 rear sight, A2 barrel 20 inch), Ruger SP101 .357 mag, Ruger Security Six .357 mag, 1911A1 .45 (with .22 conversion), Kahr P40 40 S&W, and CZ-75B 9mm (with .22 conversion).
If I lived in the city my choices would be: Rem 870 18 inch with rifle barrel, Ruger 10/22 with folding stock, Bushy C7, S&W 642 2 inch .38, S&W 686+ .357 mag 3 inch, S&W 909S 9mm, 1911A1 .45.

Anyway, in the city I would have my Ithaca 37 pump 12 guage, .38 spl Colt Cobra, .40 Sig 229

In the country I would have my Winchester 1300 pump with three barrels, Colt .44 Mag Anaconda 4 inch barrel, and German Mauser K98 8mm rifle.

Wow, that a long list for being a "limited" amount of guns! So I'll just limit my list to two. So here you go. Keep in mind these are guns I already own, if I could pick anything, my list would be somewhat different.

1. Mosseberg 500 12ga with two barrels, 20" with rifle sights and a 28" vent rib
2. Colt or Bushmaster CAR-15 or M4 type rifle

This is my minimum a would want to have for defense. I have thought before if a dire financial emergency happened to me every gun I have would go but these. My choices hold I think for city and country, maybe add a rifle in .308 if in the woods somewhwere.

A lot of you guys are "limiting" yourselves to three or four firearms! That's a lot of guns, really. You only have two hands.

Think: Hurricane (invading horde, locust swarm, whatever) is bearing down, car is packed to the gills, and you get to grab ONE on the way out. What is it?

My vote: Glock 26, but any reliable handgun would do if you know it well enough.

My vote: Any 12 gauge shotgun. Birdshot, buckshot, slugs... Mr. 12 can handle whatever you need him to.

A rifle is the best friend for SHTF
1 gun only would be, for me, a M1A in bush configuration
2 guns? Add a 1911, Hi-Power or G-22 I'll take any one of those
3? A 22 rifle
4? OK a shotgun--A Mossy 590

It really depends on what you want/expect to do with them:

Survival/Living of the land-shotgun and or .22
Protection- decent centerfire-> for me my .303 or 30-30 and a shotgun (lever action).

Remember that I am in Oz and we don't have really big predator critters and we can't have the really fun (SD) guns.
