If you had to choose one bullet manufacturer for hand/reloading, which one would it be?

For only one brand for all my rifle and pistol, it would be either Sierra or Nosler

I used to be a big Speer guy, and I still am... but for pistol bullets, simply because they make the Gold Dots, the runner-up would be Hornady with the XTP. Incidentally, this mimics my choice in carry ammos as well. I shoot a lot of cast bullets in handgun as well... I get them from different sources... Montana, LaserCast (Oregon Trail,) or, quite honestly, whoever I can get .41 bullets from. If I had to pick one, I suppose Oregon Trail.

After my experience with Speer bullets in the .30-30, I've gotten completely away from Speer for rifle bullets. If I had to pick one for jacketed bullets it would have to be Hornady, not only do they make excellent .223 and .308 bullets for LR work (although the Sierra MatchKing is my favorite... but you said to pick one....) but the deciding factor is Hornady is the only company making jacketed .348WCF bullets. Again, I shoot a lot of cast in my lever-actions... Montana is my go-to because they offer the excellent RCBS 200grn .349" bullet for the .348WCF, with Oregon Trail as my runner-up there.

If I could choose only one for some reason,
it would probably be Hornady, best selection of all calibers and styles from one company.
Maybe not the best for any one bullet but a big selection.

Having said that I buy very few Hornady bullets, 99.x% of my handgun bullets come from RMR, most of the .223 and other bullets I use come from them as well,
Flip the question and say what one bullet company would you hate to loose the most and the answer is RMR! (might be a fun new thread)
If..I had to chose one, which I don't, for all around bullet selection. It would be Hornady. Thank God for our freedoms and the right to choose! :)

For 308, 150 grain Barnes TTSX.
For 30-06, 180 grain Nosler Partition
For 223/5.56, bulk Win 55 grain.
For 38/357, locally purchased cast, except Hornady XTP for social work.
For 30-30, locally purchased GC cast, or Hornady FTX.
For 243, Nosler Solid Base (obsolete).
For 7x57, Hornady Interlock.
For 9mm and 45, Xtreme copper plated cast, except Hornady XTP for social work.

If you can find a pattern in that, you're smarter than me. (I know that's setting the bar pretty low).

Like gold, good bullets are where you find them.

These days I use RMR for pistol target loads, but I’ve used others.

For rifle it just depends. If I had to use one I suppose it would be Sierra. I currently have Sierra, Hornady, and Nosler loaded and ready to go.

He probably meant that when you find something that works good stick with it... I have good old bullet and powder combinations in certain calibers that I always stick with-

Not to say that you shouldn't try new bullets or different loads....but I have seen guys just go nuts with bullet and power combos to an end....
I personally enjoy handloading....but when I find a good load....I would rather practice shooting it rather than practice loading something new.
I reload to shoot.....not shoot to reload.
