I'll never give up my guns.

Even if they offered me 2x their value during a mandatory buyback, I wouldn't give them up. That's being a sellout.

Well, if they did that, I'd totally abuse the system. I'd buy out ALL of the guns in the local gun shops, then sell them to the government. That way I could support local businesses, AND profit off of it. Everyone wins...I'd make boatloads of cash, save jobs, and the federal government would get more guns off the street.

dont need door to door....

just wait until a gun is used in self defense.....then give them a pass on a righteous shoot and lock'em up for 10 years for using a banned gun.

word gets out, folks get rid of the ban guns for the gubmint by having "boating accidents" and the like....or burying them where they cant be used at all.

...most of us around here could fend them off and live in the woods for quite some time.
Time for a reality check.
1. How long you figure you can hold out against helicopters, dogs, tear gas, going 24x7?
2. Is it about fending them off, or taking the offensive and getting control back from the government? If the latter, what is your plan?

What do you plan for when this happens?

I'd like to believe that many (or most) police and military would refuse to confiscate guns. Has history proven that they are not above confiscation? Yes, Waco, Ruby Ridge, yeah. But not on a large scale national level. There are a lot of local PDs who wouldn't be part of that. There are many alphabet soup federal agency people who are fine upstanding Americans who, I hope, would have the guts to say no.

The majority of boots on the ground and LEOs will do what they are told, loss of life notwithstanding. That prolly won't happen. This ban, if passed, will make it illegal to own one, with many ways to charge the owner, this time 'round.

Time to present a unified front via our reps. in D.C. This is an all-out attack on us. We had nothing to do with the atrocities, but we will be punished because of it. In D.C., wrong is right, and right is wrong.

I think you overestimate how much the local police and the feds care about individuals and their rights. It's my guess the vast majority of agencies with police power would march street to street if that were their orders.

OP's name is JBrady? Hey mister, tell your wife to lay off our guns :D!

I will happily become a criminal if congress deems it so. I will never disarm. I will probably not register my weapons if the AWB gets through, either. The men who founded this country were once branded criminals by an out-of-touch power, too. It didn't stop them.

I pay my taxes, I vote, I serve on juries, I honor the dead and the wounded and anyone else who put everything on the line to defend my freedom. To anyone who would trample on their memory by demanding I disarm, I say ΜΟΛΩΝ ΛΑΒΕ. No compromises, that is the final word.

Once the first few citizens with clean backgrounds get shot by armed death squads people will start resisting. Country wide confiscation is just not an option unless you want to throw the USA into another civil war.

The guys in charge know this, they'd rather you become a felon for owning an assault weapon after it has been made illegal and take away your right to arms legally.
