Illinois Residents/LEOs: New FOID Question

A co-worker recently got his first FOID card, and they have gone to a printed card like the driver's license (as opposed to the old laminated card, for those in free states). The interesting thing is that they didn't use the picture he sent; the card arrived with his Driver's License picture printed on it.

Is there a new form that isn't posted online yet? Do you have to submit a picture if you have a DL or State issued-ID? Not having to find a 1.25x1" picture would certainly make the process much simpler. My wife is applying for hers, so if we don't have to get a picture to send in would save some trouble.

You still have to submit a photo with your FOID app. It is compared against your DL photo which is digital and on file. Being that your DL photo is digital it can be used more easily and with less effort when making your new FOID card.

That's happened to a few people I know. They sent in a photo but the FOID card had their DL pic when they got it.

yep. common practice. on my wife's card they even used an OLD DL pic.
IL-FOID is the most useless stupid buraucratic idea in all of Illanoydumb. They start with something that doesn't work and skrew with it until it is even worse.
