> Thank you for your note. I have determined that my Applejam Applebee's
restaurants will be consistent with our parent company's (Applebee's
International) practice of not posting signs prohibiting licensed, concealed
handguns. Therefore, in the Applejam of Texas' Applebee's restaurants, we will not
post signs prohibiting licensed, concealed handguns.

I look forward to your continued patronage of your local Applebee's
Neighborhood Grill & Bar.

Sincerely,
Frank DeAngelo

Wow! I've been impressed with the action I've seen to these things from the gun-owning community in the last couple of weeks (and it's not just THR, it started here but it has spread to other boards who also emailed Applejam). Two weeks ago a similar campaign was started over on www.packing.org to convince Alan Young Buick in Richardson to take down their 30.06 signs. They did. That's 2 successes in 2 or 3 weeks that I've seen thanks to rallying together of the gun community. We can be doing this on a constant basis, one victory at a time. Good job, all!

I posted the original note to several other boards and firearm discussion lists.... Maaaaan it lit up the net like fireworks!
Poor Frank, bet he thinks twice before ever "dis'ing" gunowners again :D :neener: :neener:  :p

I am amazed at this. I wouldn't have thought it possible for such a small amount of people to make a diffrence. Congratulations to all who particitpated in this small victory. A small step in the right direction. Again congrats on the victory.

I hadn't gotten around to e-mail a letter of disapproval with Applejam's policy, and I'm very happy I no longer need to do so. I did send Mr. Dangelo a thank you note however.

To those of you who did send e-mails: Thank you.

1. If you posted this information on other boards, please post the policy change on the boards as well.

2. If you sent an email asking for the change send an email or note thanking him for the change. Enclosing a receipt showing you had a meal at one of his restaurants after the policy change would be a NICE touch.

That's great news for the folks in the Lone Star state, but the state law in Georgia prohibits CCW where alcohol is sold, I have heard that may change, but for now we can't carry there..

WOO HOO!!!

yup got the same message and was glowing today...I feel like my e-mail was the straw that broke the anti-gun toting camels' back.
not really, but it does feel good to have e-mailed and made a change.
We certainly do need to unify our actions and go after one business as a time. Sounds like a great plan.

I already sent a thank you e-mail, but will also go and patronize Applebee's in order to show my appreciation.

lets all do the same.

I sent a thank you email to Mr DeAngelo as well though I do not live in the great state of Texas. I am now off to Applebees with the family of 5 to keep MY end of the bargain. I think we need to walk our talk. I will mention this thread to the local Applebees manager. Tell your friends and coworkers and email buddies that Applebees is very supportive of the Constitution. It will make a difference.
Blessings to all. Stay safe.

Yes I am;)

Went to Applebees last night with the family and an extra kid {always a treat taking kids out to eat :banghead: }. After we ate, I took the bill to the manager and explained why I was there. I thanked her and Applebees for their support of 2nd Amendment rights and the support of those who carry concealed. The management was not aware of the brewhaha going on concerning Applebees in Texas but they do now. I mentioned Mr DeAngelo's name and Applejam Inc.

Steaks-average (too much salt for me). Salmon-good. ChickenPotPie-good. Wrap-average. Service-average to good.
Applebees has a feedback page on their website as do most other businesses. Bill: $85, Tip:$10, Discussion with manager: Priceless.

I got the same reply. Amazing what a little pressure at "Hip Pocket National Bank" will accomplish.

Money talks, so the saying goes. I am pleased to see the change.

Good job team. You guys make me proud. Don't forget to send a "thanks" to Mr. D. if you get a chance. It is always good to show a little class.

Applebees actually took the signs down!

I went into applebees this afternoon with my son to see if they actually lived up to their promise to allow CCW in their establishments.

I walked in and immediately saw a blank spot on the wall where the infamous sign once was.

The way things normally go it would take an act of congress to get something like that removed...but the folks here on THR really came through for RKBA.

I spent 30 bucks and thanked the manager.

We have the ball rolling and the numbers to make a difference
lets not lose momentum.

wow,,,congrats...

i remember the original post a while back but didn't email anyone, noone ever told me i couldnt carry in applebees so i wasnt all that worried about it.

good work, those of you that did.

its nice to see that organized efforts do find success, and in this case, pretty fast success

:D
