Increasing trigger pull on 1911?

I just installed a Harrison Design Extreme Service ignition set along with a Wilson Bullet Proof sear spring on my Colt series-70 government model. The HD set comes prepped, so I installed it without any further stoning. The trigger pull is 3 pounds. I'd prefer to have it a little higher, like around 4 lbs. What is my next step for increasing the pull? I haven't attempted any bending on the spring, yet.

BTW, the machining and finish on the Harrison parts are absolutely impeccable.

Thanks,

John

You will need to increase the tension on the left and center leg of the sear spring.
Note the shape and curve on the sear spring after a detail strip. Bend the legs toward the sear and disconnector slightly and retest. Repeat as necessary to suit. Do not bend the legs down near the end of the slots. It may break. Also note that the sear spring is sandwiched between the mainspring housing and the frame, so the adjustment needs to be above that point to affect the pull.

You can also use the trigger pull gauge to see how much you are adding to each spring. The center spring is the trigger/disconnector and it moves first. The left is the sear spring and it moves after the takeup in the center spring. You probably have about 1 lb on each of those now for a 3 lb pull (the rest is in the sear/hammer friction). So, with the mainspring housing in place and the grip safety and hammer removed, you can watch the springs move while you measure and figure out how much more/less bend on which one. They don't have to be equal, but it's not a bad goal.
Best.

Hi Guys,
Thanks for your replies. I figured adjusting the spring was next, but wanted to check first, just in case I was missing something obvious.
Take care,
John
