Finally got to the range today for the first time in about 3 weeks. I've been having a horrible time trying to get a decent load for my 357 contender barrel, so today I had 7 different loads. Turns out that seating the bullet as far forward as possible was just the ticket. Nothing shot over 1.25'' at 50yrds, and my 9.3gr of BlueDot managed a very respectable 1.08''. Still not the 0.64'' I've seen with S&B factory stuff, but I'm getting there.
Then I brought out the .44mag barrel. I was a little worried about the NCStar scope I had put on it, but after 50 rds it's still holding up. Only had 4 loads to try for this one. Managed a beautiful 1.51'' group at 50yrds and if I don't count that nasty 5th shot flier it's a miraculous 0.38''. I was planning on reaming this one to .444, but I think I'll leave it alone.
Then just to cool down, I brought out the Striker that never fails to make me look good. At 50yrds with cheap rem ammo I put 5 in 0.40''. Sometimes the gods smile. Man it would be a perfect day if I didn't have a lawn to mow.
