Any suggestions on a reasonable holster for a S&W Model 29 6.5"?
I don't need something fancy--a simple belt holster is all I require, more to have it on hand than anything else. But I don't want to buy junk. No scope. No shoulder holsters, please--belt or paddle only. $100 or less, preferably much less, but as I say, I don't want to buy a piece of junk that won't protect the gun or be secure.
This will not be used for competition or concealed carry, so the main consideration is to protect the gun and keep it secure.
Grandpa gave me a beautiful blued Model 29 at Thanksgiving this year, and I'm just gathering up the fun stuff. I have dies and brass on the way. He picked it up from a guy who bought it because of "Dirty Harry," and it's exactly the same model as Inspector Callahan's. Guy claimed he never fired it, and Grandpa never has, either. I don't know how he and dad can stand to buy firearms and not shoot things with them. It's not going to remain unfired for long!
