Inletted (!) a pad for a rifle that was painful to shoot. AKA taming the Lynx.

Initial zeroing the rifle in three rounds had me waving the white flag on recoil. The Lynx is a long recoil .50BMG bullpup that has a molded hard 1.5" thick butt pad that left my shoulder badly bruised. I swore to not shoot it again until a proper recoil pad was in place. Rifle LOP precluded adding a slip-on over the original.

Final installation with disassembly cut for bolt spring.
The Limbsaver pad was screwed and glued to the butt plate like the original factory shoulder mutilator, and allowed me to shoot 50 rounds with no pain other than financial. ;-)

That is the way to go. Limbsavers are called that for a reason. I have them on 2 rifles (One a .223 AR! 😬 It was given to me, sure don't need it on there, butit was designed for the MagPul stock , so.....) and one shotgun, though I might put one one another shotgun.

Mine has BIG HEAVY muzzle brakes that tame the recoil to a push instead of a punch, Armalite AR50. Everyone that shoots it is surprised at how little kick it has but about 5 shots and my sinuses are flowing and anyone that is beside it has moved to directly behind it.

My other fifty is an EDM Arms Windrunner bolt action that weighs ten pounds more than the Lynx and has an extremely efficient brake. The smallest shooter on it was an eleven year old girl who couldn't stop giggling after shooting it. The Lynx is not suited to smaller shooters due to the long recoil action.
