I think the idea is actually an interesting one and you might be on to something.

However I think if you want to promote the effectiveness of this device you need to go into more depth.

For example you need to demonstrate how the device is helpful by demonstrating the same function on an AR without the device installed followed by a demonstration with an AR with the device installed. This way people can see clearly the advantage to such a device.

Your video is good but in order to sell people on this product you really need to demonstrate in more detail the effectiveness of your invention. There's no WOW! factor here and I think if you can figure out a way to create that then you might have a product that people will want.

I would also try and come up with a better name for the device, to me "Firearm Control" sounds like the name of something that controls the rate of fire of the gun and people might be mislead. Maybe something along the lines of "Quick Lock" or "Fast Lock" would work better.

Good luck with your endeavors!

DNS the big difference is that this doesn't require you to put your finger in the Trigger guard. That is the big flaw with the B.A.D.

so it basically eliminates a change of grip hands?

I believe that's the main benefit. But that would save several seconds if you have a severe jam.

Realistically if you have a quality AR and use quality mags, you're hardly ever going to see those jams. But if this device has no drawbacks other than a little extra cost, it might be worth it as insurance.

Can you imagine all the naysayers Eugene probably had to go through? I think probably every advancement in the storied history of that rifle, like all others, probably had its vocal detractors. Don't get too discouraged.

I do agree another video is needed. Something that shows what the thing really does. Show how one normally clears the malfunction, then show how one clears the malfunction with your device. Show the weapon firing, show the bolt locking back on an empty mag, then show people that you can still manipulate it like normal.

As for finishes, I think something like Duracoat would work well. It seems to be easily applied, durable, and available in a large selection of colors. I would recommend matte black, flat dark earth, olive drab, and maybe a charcoal gray.

It might actually help if once you got things up and running, you have a few of these away for testing. In the right hands, with the right reviews, this thing could really catch on. Have you showed this off at AR-15.com?

Wayland, thanks for correcting me.

I also agree, it does need a catchier name. I don't know what I thought it was initially, but I surely didn't think it was what it was.

It seems like a good idea, but it needs a catchier name. Firearm Control Device sounds like some ATF/Brady thing.

+1 on this

I am the firearm control device lol

maybe call it a "Malfunction Control Device" or "Remedial Action Device" and simply call it RAD... not sayin im gonna copyright either name or nothing lol

now wheres my money?

You should probably market it for casual range use as well. For people who don't shoot the whole mag and want to safe the rifle. Just push the button in and pull back on the charging handle.
