"…OK, well not 'being prepared to do that' bit you in the ass bro…"
Concur with this post 100%.

Lovell then immediately proceeds to drive nearly TRIPLE the speed limit to (ostensibly) benefit a dirtbag addict with their dumb self-induced problem.

A person driving 110 mph even on a 75 mph highway is a menace.
A person driving 110 mph in a 40 mph zone should be sitting in JAIL.
Lovell apparently has very significant decision-making shortcomings.

While I'm sure he was driving way too fast I highly doubt he was driving 110 in a 40. I'm starting to get the idea that he is probably exaggerating so he can make talking points on his channel. Probably going to backfire on him though.

Still common here. Maybe they didn't get the memo?

If the campers are respectable people in a reasonable self-contained vehicle, Walmart tends to have no issue with spending the night. If the campers are a bunch of ne'er do wells who are disturbing other shoppers, wallowing in an ever expanding pile of crap that surrounds their expired plate junk heap vehicle, then Walmart will have an issue.

The parking lot at the Page, AZ store was half-full with campers last March when I stayed there. Everybody was well behaved.

Yes, I always go in and ask the store manager and have never been told no.
The "no" signs are just lawyer speak as to the liability of the store for overnight campers.
I once saw a stationary exercise bike next to a camper in a mall parking lot!
Not posted to start a debate, jmo.
.
OP: sorry for adding to the drift going on here. :(

I want to clarify my original statement.
First of all, I want to reiterate that all the Walmarts that I go to around here are posted "no overnight parking no camping"

Again, I am not talking about somebody who's merely spending A night in a Walmart parking lot.

I'm talking about people who live in their RVs pulling into a Walmart parking lot and literally setting up camp.

They recently passed a law here that makes it almost impossible to tow a vehicle.

First property owner has to tell you to leave. Then they have to put a notice on your vehicle for 24 hours warning you that they're going to tow it. Then the tow truck comes out whenever it can get there to tow the vehicle. And if the vehicle leaves the parking lot within the 24 hours the whole process starts all over again.

My last security assignment before retirement was as a Night Roving Guard. I drove around town all night and everywhere I went I saw what amounted to Rolling Homeless Camps. It was like a gypsy Caravan in cars. I don't know if they knew each other or they were family or they were just banding together for protection but they all moved together. And a lot of them were in late model cars. And a lot of them you could tell were working.

I'd see them in the Sportsman's Warehouse parking lot on the south end of town one night and then I'd see the same Vehicles all parked together at the Park & Ride on the north end of town the next night.

There was one guy in a late model Nissan pickup truck with a roof tent on it and he parked in the I-25 and Woodman Park and Ride every single night that I worked that assignment. I never interacted with them because I wasn't responsible for that parking lot and that parting lot is posted you can park there for three days at a time but that's where he lived.

Was there a previous video? Link to that when it happened""

8 min of the video was enough for me of this guy!
He doesn't want to "live around having a phone" yet has mega security cameras and bad ass dog.
When did he call 911 were was the phone?

Drive like a maniac to the hospital,

I am taking Lovell's video statement at face value. He made it and published it.
His emphatic words illustrate to me he is a crackpot with poor assessment skills.

Placing an unknown and unrestrained substance abuser in the passenger cabin of his car could result in that stranger having a psychotic episode and having to engage with that individual while driving to maintain control at his stated 110 mph rate of speed.

If he feels he misspoke or was accidentally untruthful…he should make a follow-up video to clarify.

But...but...he is a (self-proclaimed) Warrior Poet. At least I think that's the guy who says that's what he is.

I've seen parts of a few of his videos on the screen at the local gun store. He's not for me. I guess he has a large following. So someone must see something of worth in his stuff. What is PT Barnum famous for saying?

Walmart used to allow that, but the company changed that policy 5-6 years ago. I still see it sometimes, but not nearly as much as 10 years ago.
I see that all the time at a local 24-hour supermarket. I live near a couple large outdoor recreation areas -- one state park and one nature preserve. People come here for rock climbing, mountain biking, etc., but frequently in the warmer months all local camping facilities are full-up. It isn't unusual to see three or four RVs in the supermarket parking lot at any time of night in the summer. So far nobody seems to mind -- the RV people are probably buying stuff in the store, and they're not having loud parties, etc.

If you have locks on your doors, a talented burglar can pretty much pick most fairly quietly.

Bump keys are generally faster with practice. But if ya know what you are doing 30 seconds and the door is unlocked with either.

In my mind, I think there are three basic types of home invasions:
1. run-of-the-mill uneducated, uncivilized, possibly drug-addicted "youth" trying to score anything he thinks he can sell - this type attacks houses that are easy to get into, he wants to get quickly in and out.
2. professional burglar - this type targets houses that either appear affluent or are inhabited by people who are known to have valuable items (not infrequently because they post photos of same online). He's your lock-picker.
3. mob of crazies attacking an entire neighborhood, like we saw in summer 2020. They are into brute force.

In view of those assumptions, my analysis is that my house is in a middle-class neighborhood and has my 16-year-old beat-up car parked in the driveway, and I never post photos of any of my anyway modest possessions (and am not on facebook, instagram etc in the first place), so I don't think a type 2 is coming here. The hardening I have in place should persuade a type 1 to look for another house, and give me enough time to prepare in the event of type 3.

I just looked up "bump keys" and see them advertised in beginner and advanced sets, "open any lock". Are there any laws governing who is allowed to buy these?

That would be the most interesting group to defend against. My house has an open air atrium in the center, though you cannot tell it from the outside. I used to have a huge palm tree growing in there that raccoons, stray cats, other critters would climb down to explore and look in the 18ft windows looking into the house from there. One time when my mother was visiting and I was out fishing with my Dad she had it cut down.

But I have a couple long ladders in there to get on the roof and it makes a great battlement of sorts. A couple tripod mounted rifles would serve very effectively for defense.

The other two types should hope they don't get locked in with me. The creek running behind my house is deep and swift. I'm kidding of course....or am I?

What are you going to do when you climb up on the roof and they just back off and start throwing maltov cocktails at the house?

I’m not sure but they are easy to make. A file and some knowledge is all that is needed. Oh and high dollar locks protect against this like medeco. But they are stupid expensive.

This might be a stupid question... can a medeco lock be used to replace the existing lock on a door without changing out the whole assembly (handle etc)?

No, but locks only keep out honest people anyway.

If you haven’t tried bump keys yourself or lock picking for that matter, you might give it a go. Will give you a better idea about the learning curve to become proficient at the art.
