I've got an old model 10 revolver which is extremely accurate IF I can see the front sight. In most situations it's fine, but I was at an indoor range this morning which was pretty dimly lit. I hit the target occasionally.
Does anyone make a sort of Hi Viz paint which could be applied to the front sight? As I say it's a pretty rough looking old weapon, but very reliable. I would rather not put new a new front sight on it.

Thanks

Probably the cheapest and easiest method is to buy model airplane paint.

This is available just about everywhere, comes in tiny bottles that aren't expensive, and is fairly durable and fast drying.

Best, it comes in a huge variety of colors, and you can experiment to find the color you like best.

Colors to consider are:
Fluorescent Red.
Red-Orange.
Bright Lime Green.
White.
Bright Yellow.

Apply with small artist's brushes or toothpicks.
STIR the paint THOROUGHLY, the solids settle to the bottom. Shaking usually doesn't properly mix it.

Better Model Paint

Testors® Paint Markers.

Available at just about any Hobby/Model shop. Or online from Walthers.
They come in White, Yellow, Red, Silver, Gold and a few other colors.

It's the regular Testor® model enamel but in a much easier to use, as well as spillproof, magic marker type applicator.

They work very well for sights. Much better than Bright Sightsâ„¢.
I've been using them for over 20 years.

Don't just buy model paint -- which is good -- but FLOURESCENT model paint!

It works just as well as regular model paint (in terms of resisting solvents, etc.) but is a lot more visible in low-light situations.

Testors makes a small "kit" of 4-5 colors, with thinner and a brush (which you probably will never use) for around $6. Enough flourescent paint for more guns than you're likely ever to own. You can mix colors to get what you want.
