Is 6.5 Creedmoor Worth It?

I use the 160gr Weldcore in 6.5CM, and I'm experimenting with it in .264WM as well although the first try at a load there was a 2.5MOA disaster.

What do you suspect is the problem with your 264WM load, Bob? Rate of twist too slow perhaps?
Just curious. I've always been interested in the 264WM. I might get me one someday.

I don't think it's twist. The flat base on the Weldcore should make it very stable for a 160gr. Even if it was a boat tail it would be OK probably.

I really don't know what the problem is. H1000 was my first try at a powder. I want to try Retumbo, Norma 217, and VV 570 as well but haven't gotten there yet. I want to do one more try at barrel timing with the H1000 as well, maybe I wasn't at a node like I thought I was?

It was kind of disappointing. The one commercial load I tried (160 Weldcore from Double Tap) shot bad too.

The throat on my Winchester rife was WAY short for SAAMI spec too. I notice a lot of the commercial ammo is loaded short, but I'm wondering if I mis-measured it. I may pay to have someone cast the chamber so I can see by eye what I'm dealing with.
