I'm a bit of a PWS fanboy, owning three of their rifles, but I'd never heard about the development of the UXR until a couple weeks ago! It's a shade under 7 lbs and does seem poised to provide the modularity that's often been promised but rarely delivered. According to PWS on launch day there will be caliber conversion kits for .308, .300 AAC and 5.56 with three more coming soon. It seems to have some interesting innovations rarely seen on small arms (eg a tank-style evacuator!?) and is guaranteed to shoot sub-MOA with match ammo.
I am wanting to get one in .300 Blackout, and maybe all barrel/caliber kits as time goes on (probably 5.56 first then .308).
