Is it chrome lined?

Does anyone happen to know how I can tell if the barrel of my AR-15 upper is chrome lined or not? It's a DPMS upper I purchased used and the previous owner didn't know either. The barrel markings don't specify.

shine a light down the bore, if you see silver.....

or if you looks at the muzzle 99% of the time a Chrome lined bore will have a little chrome washing over onto the crown

basicly check muzzle first, if no obvious chrome there pull bolt carrier adn shine a light down the barrel chromed bores will have a slightly different look than unlined steel barrels

If it is a DPMS barrel, it is unlikely it is chromed. You can check by looking for the chrome ring in the chamber or the chrome ring at the muzzle. Or you can just peek down the bore with a light.

If it's a good quality barrel, it won't be chrome lined.
