Is muzzle brake Removable on CVA SCOUT 35 WHELEN?

Yes, even if it’s NOT threaded and is part of the barrel, it can be cut off.

It should be removable; the CVA website doesn't even show a muzzle brake, is this an add-on or a special edition of some sort. Look for a weld or pin at the back edge of the brake, and if not present, it isn't welded. It might take clamping the barrel in a vise and some sort of tool or a rod through the side vents to break it loose, as there may be some sort of thread locker used. Why do you need to remove it, is it too loud?

I dont want that deafening loud noise.
researching cva 35 whelen for future purchase.

I cut the loud part off this brake and used the base as a thread protector, had it been permanent I would have stopped short of having to recrown the barrel.



Do you have good close photos of the muzzle area?
