There's a company called "T. Rex Arms" that makes holsters and other shooting accessories. Here is their logo:

At first it seems like a pretty good name for a company, Tyrannosaurus rex being a fearsome dinosaur and all, but T. rex is also known for having tiny, practically useless arms. So -- is the name a sort of inside joke, or is it just an unfortunate coincidence?

I think the logo brings attention to the teeth and pokes fun at the arms. But hey… what do I know

You should email the company and ask them. My guess, for what its worth, is they were well aware T-Rex's have small arms when they named the company, and someone in that naming process might have thought it was funny.
He were are discussing the name, so it appears the built in marketing aspect is working.

Of late I'm consistently amused by the meaninglessness of company, rock group, and medicine names.

'So ask your Doctor about Flignoxeplin for the pimples on your toes."

However, "Rex" = "King" or "Royal" for what it's worth in this... ummm... "excercise."

Maybe it represents somebody named Theodore King.

Exactly.
Latin for “King of the terrible lizards”. You Already knew this.

But people who three months ago didn’t know about the end of the Iron Curtain (1989/90) probably weren’t aware.

Or Edmund Morris' Book "Theodore Rex".
Great book, BTW, I've read it twice.

It's on purpose for sure. It's a family operated business, the head of the company has a popular YT channel and is what you would call an enthusiast and activist. I don't think he's much for formal competitions but he definitely puts in more time on the range than the average guntuber. Didn't much care for him at first, came off as kind of cocky, mommy daddy money kind of vibe but I've since realized that was a snap judgement, he's passionate about 2A and makes and sells a good product and keeps all the manufacturing in country. One of his partners was dishonest and had a batch of AC1 vests sewn in Mexico to save on labor and Lucas dropped him like a bad habit and sold all the goods at a loss and was totally upfront about the L.

I sub to the channel, he raises alot of topics and reviews alot of gear that mostly interests me and I think they are an honest company to deal with. It started off with him making a holster for his fire chief with a piece of kydex and a heat gun and now they are a $$$$$$$ company.

I emailed them for everyone, here's what I got back.

Hey,

Thanks for reaching out.

Our name is a poke at "Small Arms," but that is mostly by coincidence. Lucas named the company many years ago and has never explained how it came up.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

Thanks,
Cameron
